Kieran was "Fired" from Hackney's Restaurant in Palos Park after 18 years, for his unhappiness with rudeness and unprofessional management's approach to his large followers and fans. He spoke out for the first time and that was it. " don't let the door hit you in the you know where" ?????
Please be kind in your comments towards the waitresses and waitstaff and some of the bartenders,They worked hard. I don't want this Forum to be a Hackney Bashing Blog, but a way that I can announce why I won't be back there. I loved The Hackney room I performed in for so long, and it was good fit for all.
This was just purely weak management and leadership and a lack of communication from top to bottom that brought this all to a head. It was Obvious to me that the end was imminent for quite some time. I didn't like the quick and cowardly way it was done, with out any chance of discussing with the management, the problems that came with trying to accommodate such large crowds. It was that quick.. as it was considered "Totally Unacceptable" to argue my points with bar managers.!And that's my side of the story, and always remember there are two sides.
Thank you for support for all these years and for listening.
Please leave only your positive comments for all.

Wow! Do Hackney's have their heads screwd on right?, Are they that Lucrative, that they can afford to turn those crowds away? the only time there is a crowd or a line to get in was when kieran was there. we stopped going because we couldn't get in......good Luck Kieran , we will follow you no matter where?

What? Are you kidding me?
Hackney's is a JOKE they always were Kieran you deserve better.
Best burger my Ar$#. The only real meat there was between the managers ears!
Too good for that place. Their loss.
I'm suprised you lasted this long, they never appreciated you there, that was obvious. Believe me there are plenty more burger joints that would kill for that crowd.

kieran, they have done you a favor.....free to go where ever you want :)
How pathetic! I remember when Kieran first started at Hackney's. They were lucky to get five people in the place. Through years of hard work and great performances (not to mention the 14+ hour days on St. Patrick's Day), Kieran helped build a loyal and repetative customer base. It was good to see people there month after month, and year after year. The people who came to see Kieran changed from "customers" to friends. It is sad that the rudeness of one or two employees, and the unprofessional actions of the management have ended the great times for all the good employees, and friends that we've come to know. I look forward to seeing Kieran in the future, wherever he may be (how about a few shows in Indiana?) I hope to see the fans from Hackney's (that includes our friends who work there as well) at some of the future venues. I hope some of the area clubs are wise enough to grab this talented entertainer while he is still available. See you all at the next show (the schedule will always be on his website). Thanks Kieran for the great times throughout the years! You are truly one in a million, and I am honored to call you friend!! Oh, I almost forgot.....BENNY HILL!
Kieran, Your the only reason I ever went to Hackney's. Hackney's will never see another dollar of mine.
Kieran, See you at your next show !!
Good-bye Hackney's!!!

Kieran:
Kudos to you on how you handled the announcement of your "firing" from Hackney's. Not everyone would have taken the high road as you have done. The only reason to ever go to Hackney's was to see you and hear the show. How will they fill October, January and March now?Your loyal followers will continue to follow you as we have for the past 18 years. You have provided my family, friends and I with countless nights of great fun and entertainment and I certainly hope you will continue to do so for many years to come. After listening to many of the same jokes for years, they never have become stale due to your delivery and style. We have been fortunate to have kept you on the South Side for all these years. Hackney's, what were you thinking.
Looking forward to seeing you at your next "home club"

I've been going to Hackney's for years & have always enjoyed seeing Kieran there...even if it was a little repititious! My only complaint was the people that thought they were 'entitled' to front row seating!!Asking me & my wife if we were done eating...that my friend is rude!!! Never had a problem with the staff...wonder where all this 'bashing' is coming from?
In a year or two people will be saying, Remember Hackney's? What was Hackney's?
You know what this means? Hello Cedar Lake!!!!!
Karen remember "YOU SUCK!!!!"
Hey Darling,
Don't worry about this. Go and enjoy Ireland and family and be done with this @#%* hole. We sure as heck did not go to Hackney's for the FOOD!!! Remember, everything happens for a reason. You are a landmark and a south side institution. You have a great following of loyal people. That is what sustains us in the end. Never forget that. We're going to keep our eyes open for new places you can entertain so you can keep the joy and love flowing. I think Hackney's will eventually realize they made a big mistake.
We will continue to check out your website for future gatherings. You are a great guy and wonderful entertainer. You shall prevail.
Love ya cutie pie!!
Lucie
Quite simply stated...I don't think Hackney's will ever be the same without Kieran there. I could go on about how terrible the waitresses were or the food was, or even the watered down drinks, but why bother. Everyone knows the only reason to sit in a dingy "old fashioned" restaurant in the middle of the woods, is to see the best entertainment the south side has to offer. I agree with the other comments..Kieran you deserve better. As to the comment from Tom in Orland Park about people being entitled to front row seating...My friend,I watched the owner escort his friends to an open table after waiting to get a seat for Kieran's performance. I put my name on the waiting list was told by the girl I would have the next table...the owners friends came in, guess who got the table. THAT is rude, shows the way this man runs his business.
Hasta la Vista Hackney's. I will be happy to follow Kieran to his other venues.
To Tom in Orland Park...
First, the word is spelled repetitious!
Second, I have also been going to Hackneys for years definitely not for the food, but to see Kieran. I have been asked if I was staying for the show, not if I was through with my dinner. And the times I was asked if staying and my reply was yes I foud that I was asked to be joined by some of the nicest people I've ever met. At times it turned a table for two into a party. Over the years I have enjoyed many entertainers. The mark of a true entertainer is the ability for that person to make their audience a part of the show and for them to have fun. Kieran Conway has mastered this art. His ability to get a crowd involved is wonderful.
So,Tom, I invite you to check out Kieran at another place and go to any of the tables and try to join in the fun. I'm sure yu'll be welcome. That's what the Kieran crowd is all about.
Kieran:
One of the hardest things in life is to make it all up as you go along, to go your own path, to acknowledge the introvert, the clown, the artist, the reserved, the distraught, the goofball, the thinker inside you. You bring yourself to the table every time you get up on stage and you give something no one else has. And that is yourself, your own personality, your own voice, your own way of looking at the world. You are one of the few people that listens to that small voice inside you that tells you to go another way.
Hackney's neither appreciated nor deserved you. They never understood the crowd, the lines...only saw the dollar signs. Now they will have nothing. You can sleep easy knowing you gave it your all every time you walked through the door. I doubt they can do the same. They will never replace what they have lost. Imitations are redundant, bands are a dime a dozen. But there is only one Kieran Conway. Only one person people will keep coming back again and again to see. Only one person that people will get there two hours early to make sure they get a table so they don't miss a word you say. Only one person that makes each and every person in the room feel like they belong and are special in your eyes. This is why your followers have no age limits, no ethnic similarities, no set way to act. What they share is a love of laughter, a love of music and dancing and a love of the way your humor sets them free.
Being what Hackney's or any one else expects of you day after day becomes like always carrying a backpack filled with bricks. Nothing important or meaningful or beautiful or interesting ever came out of living up to other people's expectations of what you should be or do. It's time to set the Hackney's backpack down. Every day will feel light as a feather.
You are one of the few people to be successful on your own terms. And if the success isnot on your own terms, if it looks good to the world, but does not feel good in your own heart, it is not success at all.
Maybe there are more important things to do in life than make people laugh.
But I can't imagine anything that would bring more joy.
Stay Unique
Stay You
Keiran,
What a good business decision on Hackney's part... HA!
Come back to Homewood... we love you there!

Over the years I have gone to see Kieran Conway at Hackney's. I always had a great time spending time with friends, having a few drinks, enjoying the excellent food and wonderful entertainment. That's what Hackney's has always been about the great food and having a good time with family and friends. Kieran always made those nights even better with the good music and large crowds. Even though Kieran was fired by Hackney's does not mean that he is a bad entertainer or that Hackney's is a bad restaurant. What I have seen over the years is that Hackney's provides a warm environment with great food. I'm sure that Kieran would not want to ruin their reputation. What I am trying to say is that many people came to Hackney's to have a good time. So people stop bashing Hackney's good name and get over yourselves. We are all adults here and it's not like Kieran is a bad entertainer he has plenty of excellent jobs out there for him and pleny of wonderful fans that will always be there for him. So to you Kieran Conway good luck with your future enetertainment. And good luck to Hackney's with their future business.
Kieran, I just read all the comments on the blog and what you have added about not bashing on Hackney's.
I have to tell you my thoughts on that. I don't think the blog seems like a Hackney's bashing. I think people are just releasing a lot of pent up frustration. This is just the way people feel and there is nothing you can say to change how someone feels about encounters with other people or places. I think the way Hackney's has been treating people for years is just coming to a head since they fired you. I think you just opened up the communication..whether it be good or bad. From my heart I can tell you...thank you. Nothing feels better than a good laugh. You have put many smiles on my face and filled my heart with laughter. You truly have a gift like no other. Your personality ignites a room...
See you at your new venues!
Kieran, you are quite a man. Now that you have a legitimate reason to "TRASH THE PLACE" you keep it professional and kind. It's no wonder you are so successful. Godspeed, my friend. -m-
I was shocked to hear of Kieran's termination by Hackney’s. I first saw Kieran 17 years ago at the urging of my Mom who had seen him at Hackney’s. The last thing I wanted to do was sit in the audience of another “Irish guy” and listen to Irish music. After some prodding, I agreed to go along. I was very pleasantly surprised by his wit, talent and demeanor and became an instant fan.
Fast forward 17 years later and I’m still a fan and I see his shows often. His appeal crosses all generations. Kieran is one of the most sincere, warm, friendly, truly nice people around and he never forgets a face. The fact that he is a musically-gifted, comedic genius is proven by the huge crowds he draws wherever he goes.
Kieran was Hackney’s. Period. They made a serious mistake and will go back to the land of mediocrity where they were before Kieran came along and put them on the map. The marquee outside Hackney’s will soon be advertising their onion loaf … that’s the best they have to offer now.
See you soon, Kieran. Bigger and better things await.
Kieran,
You deserve better than you were treated by Hackney's. Their loss is your gain. Now it frees you up to perform at Shannon's more often!
An early congratulations on a good turning point in your career.

Well, let us know where to next Kieran, this is no loss, I always felt I was in the way there, no matter where you stood, just because, I wasn't there early enough to grab a table.
They didn't mind taking our cover charge, for an over full room, and no where to put us, but it was always worth it to see the laughs you put on peoples faces.
You go Kieran

I used to work at Hackney's for 3 months and could not make money by pooling tips. It was the same waitstaff doing all the work, and others let them. Why Not we were all making the same money.
The only time I made a decent nights Pay was when you were there Kieran. They must have Bon Jovi booked to fill the place, especially on St. Patricks day.:]
Now where are we going to go for our January month of fun, to rid us of our winter Blues?
This is bad news!

Wow! I just got on line to check your schedule for the first time in a month, I could not believe my eyes, when I read this.
Who makes the decisions there? why would they throw away 18 years of built up customer base. It doesn't make sense, there has to be more to this story, than we know????
At least that client base is all yours Kieran, take them and run with them...good luck young Man!

What? You're the reason I moved back to Palos,, :) ,, okay, ONE of the reasons,,,,haha
I look forward to a new restaurant at that location because Hackney's will soon be gone without you.
Love ya, Barbie :)
I just signed on to check your schedule.....what are they thinking at Hackney's? You were the only good thing that the "bar in the middle of the woods" had going for them. St. Patrick's day will be a quiet boring day for them now with their main crowd that they'll draw now going to bed at 5pm. Kieran, you were the only reason anyone ever went to Hackney's. Your crowd will follow you anywhere Kieran, me included. You have a loyal group and I always liked the fact that I could always go to your shows even alone and know there would be a friendly group of people to welcome me. You have great people that make your whole experience fun and different every time. Love all of you! Who needs Hackney's.....we have Kieran!
Melissa
kieran you are a wonderfully funny person with a heart of gold and i see what everybody else can see in you, everybody but hackney's. they must be blind, covering up something or just plain ignorant and i can't believe they treated you that way after 18 loyal years. remember what comes around goes around and this is just a bump in the road. and by the way, they definitely do NOT have the best burgers.
kathi
KIERNAN, IT'S A SENIOR CITIZENS HOME WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE. I AM SURE THEY ARE TIPPING A LOT TOO.
DID THEY REALLY ALL SIT DOWN AND PLAN THIS MOVE...THERE HAS TO BE SOME ONE THERE WITH SOME SENSE? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?
GOOD LUCK KIERAN WHERE EVER YOU GO.
IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME??

Kieran.....
Friends of mine were kicked out on St. Patricks day, they were gone before I even arrived , for arguing over the bill. They accused the one guy of arguing because he drank too much, and he didnt even have a drink. So all 5 of them were asked to leave and not to return. It seems you could start a business with all the people that are kicked out. Do they not realise that people go there to drink and have fun , it goes with owning a drinking establishment. Hellooo. It must be great to have old money, thats all I can say. They would never have made it with out you Kieran
You deserve way better.
let us know where you will be , we and my 5 friends can't wait to see you again.

Hi........ First of all, I look up to you for someone finally speaking up at Hackney's.... If it's the same bar manager I am thinking of..... everyone and every group has had a problem with her. She looses a lot of business for Mike ..... not sure why he doesn't see it. But then again he is a little rough around the edges also...... saw him throw a couple of dancers (senior citizens) out of the place on the big band night. Those dancers stick together. I am sure he won't like his pocket book in Jan and March - and St Patty's day. Oh well, I will watch your web site to see where you will be.

Kieran I just found out last night thw whole story of what was done to you. I can't give my name because I work at Hackneys but probably not for very long. It's a ghost town without you and I can't afford to stay there. Besides, if Mike can do that to you after 18 years, he can't really care about the other people that work for him either. We all loved you Kieran and all your followers....it made Hackney's a fun place but not anymore. I'll come to your web page to see where you are because I miss all you kieran people.
Kieran , we saw you this weekend in Frankfort and what a blast, it was great to see your huge fan base there, I am even making new friends with people I recognize that follow you. Even the mayor of Frankfort was there and became a new fan.
I cannot imagine , why any place like Hackney's would not want that fun , loving , and happy crowd...isn't that's what it's all about?
I am sure 2007 will be huge for you Kieran, Just dont forget us in your travels. we love you and will continue to follow you, from a new fan.

Kieran ,
I am really up set you are not coming back, we really needed your crowd to pay our after Christmas Bills and loans. This will change my out look and probably have to move on.
I was angry at you , as I thought you walked out and left us high and dry, but I only found out last week the real story, and that has left me with very little respect for the owner and management of this place. We were obviously never considered in the decision making of our hard work and future. This is just not fair to us or you.If you end up in any good places on the south side , post it on your web site,so we can keep connected, and maybe i'll get a job there too.
Good luck kieran , we are all going to really miss you.
What the HELL was the manager of Hackneys thinking??? Oh well, I never liked their brunch anyways!! You are trully a great performer and where ever you go....we will follow!!
Thanx for the fun you bring to all of us. See you soon!!
Mary & Mary!!
Hey Kieran, you are what made Hackney's, when you not playing there, there isn't anything worthwhile there for me or my friends.I don't what they were thinking, I guess traditions or good entertaiment do not mean much to the owners. But not to worry we will follow where ever you go, cause after all you are the "LIFE" of the party...... Good Luck Happy New Year!!!!!
P.S. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF YOUR SHOW WAS THAT YOUNG GOOD LOOKING MAN THAT ALWAYS WORKED THE DOOR......................
In keeping with the humor of Kieran. And this joke is probably on Hackney's, but I see an improv version of the country song "What was I thinkin'". I'll even help write the first few lines.
Went to the woods for an onion ring snackney.
The name of the place I think it was Hackney's
went to see a great Kieran show,
But they said kieran you must go.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKIN'?
Kieran I'll leave the comedy to you at this point, just know I've always enjoyed your shows and your friendship as well as that of all the Kieran regulars I've met over time.
Keep on, Keepin' on!
Dave
Kieran....you are just what we needed to make us laugh. We saw you in Frankfort Saturday night, didn't come early enough to get a table inside, but sat outside and had a ball. That's what your show is all about and we even got our picture taken, that's what we enjoy about you and your crowd, nobody is ever left out, everyone feels like part of your family. It doesn't matter whether or not you're at Hackney's...your crowd will follow you no matter where. It's good to know we can go see you, have a good time, see familiar faces every time and always feel welcome. We just spent 30 minutes going through all your pictures and those alone tell the story of what you're all about. Great website and we will be checking in often. Good luck to you and we'll see you often in 2007.

I also worked at Hackney's and only made money when you were there. We weren't told anything, just that you were leaving. The customers asking about you were told the same thing. One of the waitresses ran into one of your friends and good thing because she told us to go to your website to get the real story. Mike cut everyone's hours because there's no business, only a little bit of a dinner crowd but I see all that leaving too. On St. Patrick's day, I would make more money on that day than a whole month usually. Kieran, you are right about one thing. The bar managers didn't care for you or any of your followers and we never could figure out why but we thought you and your crowd were the nicest people we ever met. Generous too and I think it's about time someone spoke out against the bartenders who complained all the time and never did any of the work. I'm looking for a new job so tell me where you're going to be. Good luck to you Kieran, I always enjoyed and appreciated you at Hackneys. As for Mike...he will be staring at the empty tables in January and twiddling his thumbs in March.
hi kieran, tom here.
i have to admit that i never went to your website before and this is a first for me and i even had my son take me here. i've been coming to see you for over 15 years, mostly at hackneys and i started to go to your other places too. when i went into hackneys nobody even mentioned that you were gone and one of the waitresses told me about this story. after reading your story i'm shocked and so will all my other friends. i read this entire page and still cant believe this. i only have 2 things to say. i will go wherever i see you are at in the papers, that's how i find you. my other comment is to that other guy tom from orland park. i have walked into your shows by myself and had your followers welcome me with open arms and even give up a seat for me and made me feel right at home. your a great guy kieran and a hell of a commedian and you have good people around you that you can count on and you will land on your feet no matter what but i don't think hackneys will without you. i hope this goes thru. tom
Hey!
Just had to take a ride past Hackney's on Saturday night at 9:30pm (1-6-07) and just so happens I had my camera. Kieran ,it's not the same place, hardly anyone there...all the fun, laughter, and excitement is gone. You truly made that place.
I didn't even bother going in.
As sooooo many people have said they will follow you no matter where you perform. We feel that we are not your audience and are more than friends...you're like family. You have us on your side like a big huge family to watch over for fun, laughs, excitement etc.
So if your a little down and can't get that boat started we'll be there to throw you a tow line to tow you to a safe harbor in New Buffalo.
See Ya Soon at one of your gigs,
Larry & Betty of Palos /New Buffalo
Hi Kieran, it's Cindy.
It's been a busy year for me so I haven't had the chance to come see you as much as I would have liked to and visited your site to see where you are and I can't believe all of this happened. There's got to be something wrong with Hackney's because you were and will always be what kept that place alive. It was always a tradition to go to Hackney's on St. Patricks to see Kieran Conway and I always waited over an hour just to get a place to park but it was worth it because I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I just want to say that I feel so comfortable at any of your shows with all your friends there and wherever you may go in the future remember it's not the place, but the people that make you so special. Whatever are 1000 people going to do on St. Patrick's day now????? Go wherever you are, of course! See you soon.
Kieran, Six of us went to Hackney's this weekend, 6th Jan 07 thinking you were there. Are they closing the place down? They had the walls closed to divide the pub off from the main room, which was in darkness, and 7 cars in the parking lot at 9.30 PM. what's going on? And where were you. We left the parking lot and went down the street instead. Please let us know where you are going to be. We were really disappointed as we needed our Kieran Fix.
Hackney's better have a meeting and sort their S#$@t out, that's all I can say.
See you next week at Kosta's
Brian & Sue from " Homo Glen"!
I have been going into Hackneys for a long time and I've been watching the slow decline in the last couple of years. It seems like Mike just doesn't care anymore and he's been letting the place go. Broken windows, leaky roof, broken bathrooms, pictures crooked and falling off the walls, not to mention how dirty he let the place get. You could write your name in the dirt on the windows and sometimes the same dirt from Friday night would still be on the floor the next evening. I always thought that the months you were appearing were the only months that kept that place afloat. All I can say is I hope the other Hackneys restaurants make enough money to keep the palos location going....it's a sinking ship now for sure. It seems you care more about the help than their own boss did and I tip my hat to you on the honest and caring way you are handling this. You have more compassion in your baby finger for all those waitresses and bartenders than Mike has in his entire body. Not only are you a great entertainer, but a great man also. See you at Kosta's...maybe they can hire some of the Hackney staff!
John - Tinley Park, Illinois
Kieran,
You and your web-page are too good to even mention Hackneys anymore. This is just a personal oppinion. You should wipe the name off the page completely and start anew. You are and always were too good for that place. Don't give them the satisfaction of displaying their name. It only gives them cause to think that they had the upper hand in the situation. They lied to their employees by telling them that you quit! Doesn't this just tell everyone they are NOT worth giving anymore attention?
Your fans will find you wherever you are. Move on darlin". From now on consider it the "H" word.
Kieran,
I've been to Hackney's only about 20 times. Each time I've had great fun, great laughter and great music. I did not get this from the burger or the bloomin' onion. I only go this from KIERAN.
Best O'Luck...See Ya at Kosta's.

Are you serious?? Have they lost their mind? Do they have any clue how much business they will lose? I loved coming there to watch Kieran. I think he was hiliarious. I guess we will just take our beer money and follow Kieran!
Kieran we just had to leave a comment on your outstanding performance yesterday at Morgans. We couldn't imagine spending St. Patricks day with anyone else and we had a wonderful time at your show. We've been seeing you the past years at Hackneys and after reading through the comments one thing stands out. It's not the place, it's the performer. It was so crowded that we had to sit in the back but we expected that. We loved your new place, the food was excellent and the servers were friendly and fun. We saw lots of familiar faces and you were, as usual, outstanding. We will be watching your website for future performances and no matter where you are, we will be there, you are certainly worth the trip.
Thank you for a wonderful day!
Kieran,
wow , what a St.Patrick's day! What a day! we had the parade right there and back to spend the day with you at Morgan's on maxwell street. What a breath of fresh air. New people ..you could see they were just in awe of what came out of one lil old Irish man on that stage. We were so proud of you, we have followed you for years , and I just loved watching the people that have never seen you before . You blew them away.
Even the Staff were amazed at the amount of work you put in to the whole day. You are truely one of a kind, and I know they want you at Morgans again, just don't forget your loyal followers from the Southside.
We wont forget you ,thats for sure.
well done Kieran.
You made us proud!

I used to be a waitress at Hackneys . Explain to me how Mike Masterson , sleeps at night? knowing full well he screwed his staff out of a Lot of potential earnings, and still expects them to give loyal service. He obviously was not thinking of them or you kieran. How Selfish! he must be miserable under his skin.
How can he look them in the eye...really!
Have you been to Hackney's since you left , it's a senior citizens Home. How much money can you make on a glass of water?
You go Kieran....We saw you at Morgans and you did not hold back , you turned it on my friend ..you "Rocked"!
Run with the wind! and we will be Pushing you on all the way.
"Thank you kieran for all the hard loyal work you have given us"., and That's something "Hackney's should have said to you.

Kieran I had my daughter take me to your wesite because I don't have a computer and we were furious that we went to Hackneys thinking you would be there last saturday. we knew something was wrong the minute we got close because in years past there was always a traffic jam as you got close to hackneys but this year there was nothing and we pulled right into the parking lot and thought that they were closed. I wish we had known that you were playing in a different place because we would have made plans to come to see you. We didn't even know what hackneys had done to you and that was the only reason we ever went there. I saw your pictures of last saturday and what a fun time we missed. beautiful pictures and It looks like your fans will follow you wherever you go, how wonderful is that? I will have my daughter check your schedule and we will come and see you soon. Im sorry we missed you on saturday but i have to tell you that I see hackneys closing down because how can they afford to stay open when nobody goes there especially on st patricks day? from Bev and Tony
This message is sent from Kieran "Himself"
Thank you all for your support , and all the e mails, and blog messages. Its been almost 6 months now, since I was fired from Hackneys's, and the dust has some what settled.
I went through a lot of different emotions as I gave 18 of my Best years to them. I worked extremely hard for them , and did more to promote their name than most others in their own family and corporation.
I was dismissed as if I had worked there a week. Very quietly and under the radar, so as the staff or anybody else would not know. Maybe A "Farewell night with Kieran" would have been a classier way of saying "goodbye" and Thanks for what you did for us over the years.
It was a calculated move by Mike Masterson, a cowardly one too, as I was not allowed address the managers, have a say, or even discuss any of the problems that arose. So it led me to believe that this was just a personal issue with him about me. I lost a ton of respect for him and the Masterson corporation over this , as I should have been allowed to express my opinions, after all, 90% of the crowd were there for "Kieran Conway" it seems, but yet The Mastersons still paid their bills from them, on one hand , and complained about them on the other. They were not fans of "Kieran Conway" fans, as they never came back to Hackney's when I left there. Oh well! what can I say about that.
As regards Mike Masterson's comment , about , he was tired of the "Obnoxious Drunks" that came when I was there... Wow, that was some ironic statement, I wont even go near. Some of you will know what I mean about that.
Luckily for me, I had a blog page in place , and never thought the first blog, would have been about me being fired by the "H" word place. It served a great way of getting the truth out, and allowing others to vent their frustrations too.
I have been approached by many new places that I will be trying out over time , and life goes on.
I do have to say I just love seeing the familiar faces from all the past years , showing up at all the new and old venues.. Thank you for your continuing support.
Oh! The new venues , cannot believe the crowds that come , and absolutely appreciate your business. Thank you all!
See you all soon

Kieran:
What Hackney's? There is no Hackneys anymore. The "Heart and Soul" is gone from there. I had never heard of Hackney's until I went there to see you. You WERE Hackney's, nobody ever went there nor goes there anymore since your unfair, unbelieveable termination. It's hard to endure injustice anywhere, much less endure it publicly and personally. You spoke out only once in 18 years...and that was to defend your fans and your friends. Maybe Mike had it in for you, maybe he was waiting for a chance to let you go or maybe he was just too drunk to even care. However you took the high road, stood up for your morals and principles, spoke out where you saw an injustice. I can think of no better person to have on my side than you, my friend. You have endured Mike's moodiness, his uncaring about his own business and his mistreatment toward his employees. He never saw any of that, never saw the caring side of you and never appreciated that you cared about the one thing that makes anyone or any place great.....the people that go there. This is why you will ALWAYS be sucessful, why you will ALWAYS have people that follow and love you. You have the one quality that stands out above the rest. You really and truly care about all of your fans and friends. And now we all know what you're made out of. Good stuff Kieran...from the very core of you. You are one of a kind and we are lucky you have touched our lives. This is why people follow you wherever you go no matter where it may be. You can hold your head up Kieran. You stood up for what you believed in, endured a huge injustice from a cowardly inebriated shell of a person who will never quite know what he lost. But we do, we all do and that's what matters in the end. Thank you for being not only a great performer, but more important, a wonderful person.
